I'm Thomas!
I make one person, circus-theatre shows that explore the relationships and intersections between things you’d never think of putting together in the first place.
Such as:
Juggling and Sourdough Bread,
Juggling and Art History,
Juggling and Emily Dickinson,
Me and Not-Talking-about-Juggling… while Juggling!
I live to entertain, educate, and communicate. In college, I fell in love with juggling and dance by means of circus. After making my professional debut in 2019's BOHEMIA! at Muhlenberg College. I realized that making circus art would be a necessity of my life. I had a taste, but I wanted more. I just needed to keep practicing! I needed to keep making better and better work! I needed to be a physical artist! In June of 2024, I graduated from Circadium School of Contemporary Circus. I perform for theatres, schools, community centers, public forums, and anyone who would like to watch.
In a world saturated by hatred, delusion, and greed, live performance offers hope. Compassion, reflection, and transformation provide order to the chaos of the universe. Large questions require many minds! Circus is proof that, together, we can make something greater than the sum of its parts. Let's juggle for a little bit :)
Thomas Miller is a Juggler, Director, Writer and Theatre Artist based in Philadelphia, PA who infuses juggling with storytelling in an attempt to identify the world’s contradictions. Nimble hands are the satellites with which Thomas explores the creative cosmos!
He started performing at 11 years old in school musicals and became emboldened to pursue the arts professionally. In college, he fell in love with theatre and dance, but desperately wanted to join the circus. One failed clown audition later, he taught himself how to juggle. After studying physical theatre at Accademia dell'Arte (Arezzo, Italy), Thomas made his professional circus debut in 2019 with BOHEMIA! at Muhlenberg College. Since then, he has fully embraced spectacle as an integral piece of storytelling. Thomas enrolled at Circadium School of Contemporary Circus in 2021. In 2023, he and his classmates represented the United States onstage at the CIRCA Festival (Auch, France).
Beyond circus, Thomas is interested in poetry, fungi, baking, Dungeons & Dragons, chickens, herpetology, David Bowie, Grecian urns, tour guides, and gardening.
